Interested in reading about horses?

This blog is all about horse books which are available on Amazon, mainly as eBooks for your Kindle but there are also paper books as well. Each day, free eBooks are updated for that day - grab them quick (no limit on the number given away on the day it is free). If you don't have a Kindle but want a free Kindle reading app from Amazon, click the link below (yes, it is free). It only takes a few minutes to get one on your computer, laptop, Android, iPhone or iPad and allows you to access the million or so eBooks available on Amazon. All links on this blog are safe ones which will only take you to Amazon.

Please let your friends and forums know about this blog - the more books that can be given away, the more the authors are promoted, which is why they agree to make them free for a few days. (And if you don't have a Kindle... consider one - I bought one for me, one for my daughter and a third for my 75 year old mother, and I linked the accounts so that every book I buy or pick up for free can be put on any or all Kindles. All of us love our Kindles!)

Free eBooks Today (May 18)

Sorry that I've been ignoring this blog... with some full time teaching at the local high school (apart from horses and writing, I am actually an English teacher - I just don't work full time), as well as organising the best new thing in showing to hit Australia (see the flyer above), and writing some scripts for Horse Talk TV, writing books and some articles and trying to work horses, run a house, tend the garden and everything else, the blog just missed out for a few weeks. The Lockyer Horse Expo and Exclusively Equine Welcome Show (above) is an exciting new concept in showing - the horse show itself has thousands of dollars worth of prizes but it is not for the elite of the showing world, it is for everyone who owns a horse or pony - even if they can't ride it, there will be at least five events for them to enter that day. There's one whole ring of 'walk trot' classes for people who don't want t canter, and it is a 'jeans and t-shirt' day, so no one has to have expensive show gear. It's a way to try and get everyone to experience the fun of showing.

Back on track, though. I'm pleased to see that Horses Of The Sun and Horses Of The Light have remained in the Top 20 Children's Horse Books for many weeks now, being #1 and #2 for a while, and often in the Top Five. Considering how many hundreds of books there are in this genre, that is fairly exciting. Horses Of The Sun is still #1 on the 100 Top Rated in this genre (with various versions of Black Beauty filling spots 2, 3, 4, and a couple more) and Horses Of The Light remains on the 'Hot New Releases' list. I've started writing the third book in the series, Horses Of The Fire, which is set a year after we first meet the children, and there is a race to try and find who is setting the outback alight before Sunhaven Downs burns along with many other stations, and before any more horses, cattle, sheep and native animals are killed in the horrendous fires. The romantic tension between Amy and Brandon continues to rise, and there are other problems that complicate their journey of growing up and reaching their dreams.

FREE eBOOKS: many authors offer their books for free for a day or two in order to promote their work, and I try and find books that have something to do with horses (sometimes nothing more than a horse on the cover or a cowboy on the inside... if there's a cowboy, there must be a horse somewhere). These are free to download - but always check that the price is still $0.00 before downloading as the book may have gone off the free list by the time you read this.

So, here are today's free eBooks that have something to do with horses (and off to a brilliant start with Jockeys And Jewels!  :

And here are some more free eBooks that may have nothing to do with horses, but they have good reviews (horse on cover of first one!):
